The library contains about thirty thousand volumes; the bookcases are very neat though of no better wood than walnut-tree. They are surrounded by an iron balustrade gilt; they are so well painted as to cause a deception when seen from a proper point of view; also several ancient editions of books in the infancy of printing. In another room are very curious manuscripts. (English)
