L'étage au-dessus des portiques est occupé d'un côté par la bibliothéque Magliabecchi, qui est publique. Elle doit son établissement au savant Antoine Magliabecchi, bibliothécaire du grand duc, mort en 1714, âgé de quatre-vingt-un ans, qui laissa sa bibliothéque à sa patrie, avec des fonds pour l'entretenir.
