Bocace nâquit en 1313 à Florence vers l'endroit appellé Pozzo Toscanelli, [...] Ce fut lui qui fut choisi le premier en 1373, par le Sénat de Florence, pour remplir la place qu'on établit à l'occasion des ouvrages du Dante; & il fit un commentaire qui est en manuscrit dans la bibliothéque Riccardi.
