Statements
The palace of Capo di Monte is in a beautiful situation, but the house itself poor and unfurnished. Its foundations having given way, it has never been finished. Here is a great part of the Farnese collection of pictures, cameos, medals, and book,s but mostly in confusion, piled on the floors, and cover ed with dust. (English)
