They shew in this cabinet certain manuscripts of Leonardo da Vinci, on which they set an immense value, consisting chiefly of notes and figures, and here and there a very rough sketch indeed: [...] Galeas Arconati, a citizen of Milan [...] whose property they were at that time, preferred the giving them to the Ambrosian Library to the pistoles the King had proffered him.
